Avatar, the new film full of groundbreaking effects by James Cameron is hailed as "the future of cinema”. This mind-blowing 3-D movie tells the story of Jake Sully, an ex-Marine who gets involved in a futuristic war on a distant alien planet. Although the movie was only released a few days back, the touching story, amazing characters and environments and special effects have already inspired thousands of designers and illustrators to create their version of the adventure. Welcome to Pandora, a brand new world!
Avatar is without a doubt this year's most eagerly awaited release and one of the most expensive movies ever made. Director James Cameron has done extraordinary things to make Avatar spectacular looking. His last opus was of course Titanic, the highest-grossing movie of all time. The two hours and 41 minutes Avatar movie is an amazing visual and auditory experience, telling the story of injured ex-Marine Jake Sully, who was wounded and is paralyzed from the waist down. Jack is transformed into a giant blue alien avatar and sent off to the distant moon Pandora where he is embroiled in a war between humans and Na’vis over natural resources.
Avatar is a story of of redemption, discovery and unexpected love, as Jack falls in love with Neytiri, a young Na’vi woman and leads a heroic battle to save the Na’vi civilization.
Thirty years ago, George Lucas changed the way that special effects were used in Hollywood by producing the original Star Wars trilogy. Today, James Cameron and Avatar introduce a revolutionary and mind-blowing 3-D world. Conceived 14 years ago and over four years in the making, Avatar breaks new ground in reinventing the movie-going experience.
